One would think that women physicians with their greater knowledge about how the human body works (including reproduction) would make decisions about when to start their families based on these facts. With years of education and training, women doctors often delay childbearing until after medical school and residency for a number of reasons. According to a study presented at the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, it turns out that over a quarter of these women wound up needing infertility treatment and a similar number regretted putting off childbirth. Unfortunately, as we have known for sometime, fertility is affected by age, and the best way to prevent infertility to not delay childbearing.
